Oloto of Oto Awori Kingdom Marks 65th Birthday with Grand Chieftaincy Installations

 


The Oloto of Oto Awori Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Josiah Olanrewaju Ilembade Aina, on Sunday celebrated his 65th birthday in grand style, as the ancient town of Oto played host to an elaborate ceremony that also featured the installation of several new chiefs.

The colourful event attracted an impressive gathering of traditional rulers from across Lagos and Osun States, underscoring the monarch’s influence and respected position among Yoruba traditional institutions. The palace grounds were filled with culture, pageantry, and goodwill as dignitaries, chiefs, and well-wishers joined the celebration.



Adding a politidcal dimension to the occasion, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was also in attendance, alongside party leaders and notable figures from different walks of life, further highlighting the significance of the event.

A major highlight of the celebration was the chieftaincy installation, during which deserving sons and daughters of the kingdom were honoured for their service and contributions to the development of Oto Awori Kingdom. The Oloto charged the newly installed chiefs to uphold the values of tradition, unity, and selfless service to the people.



Entertainment at the event was top-notch, with renowned Fuji musician Musiliu Alao, popularly known as Omo Oko, delivering a thrilling musical performance that kept guests entertained throughout the celebration.

Speaking at the event, Oba Aina expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and thanked all traditional rulers, political leaders, and guests who came to celebrate with him. He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, progress, and the continued development of Oto Awori Kingdom.

The celebration was widely described as a remarkable blend of culture, leadership, and unity, marking a memorable milestone in the reign and life of the Oloto of Oto Awori Kingdom.
